On November the 6th Early in the morning, just after 8am, Fernando Alonso made his first visit to Ferrari’s Maranello HQ. The first meeting was with Stefano Domenicali, who then left him to the technicians. Fernando wasted no time and got straight down to business to get to know the program for 2010 despite the lack of any real testing in the 2009 F60 as testing is prohibited until February. An unnamed Ferrari mechanic later told the media that in his personal statement to the team of engineers present, some of his key words in Italian were “I expect a winning car from you“. He also made efforts to shake hands with everyone present in the Factory.
The day’s agenda included the important seat fitting sessions, where his measurements where taken and the mold for a custom seating arrangement was created. Fernando also saw first hand Ferrari’s 2010 single seater scaled model in the windtunnel. Before leaving the factory he was was received by Chairman Luca di Montezemolo, who personally wanted to welcome the Spaniard at Ferrari in a cordially meeting of around half an hour.
And just for kicks Alonso indulged himself to 5 laps in the new Italia 458 around the Fiorano test track.
